  3. Discovering Greek Paradise

Greece is a beautiful country with amazing history, tasty food, and lovely beaches. In this post, we’ll show you 7 of the most beautiful beaches in Greece. We’ll also teach you some Greek words along the way, so you can learn while you travel (or dream about traveling!).

1. Navagio Beach (Ναυάγιο) – Zakynthos

Navagio Beach is also called “Shipwreck Beach.” There is an old ship on the sand, between high white cliffs. You can only go there by boat. It’s one of the most famous beaches in Greece!

2. Elafonissi Beach (Ελαφονήσι) – Crete

Elafonissi is a beach with soft pink sand and clear water. It looks like a fairy tale. The beach is great for walking in the shallow water and relaxing in nature.

3. Myrtos Beach (Μύρτος) – Kefalonia

Myrtos has bright blue water, white stones, and high cliffs. It’s one of the best beaches in the world! Try to visit at sunset for a beautiful view.

4. Porto Katsiki (Πόρτο Κατσίκι) – Lefkada

To go to Porto Katsiki, you walk down many stairs on a cliff. The name means “Goat Port” because goats were the only ones who could go there long ago. Now, it’s one of the most popular beaches on Lefkada island.

5. Sarakiniko (Σαρακήνικο) – Milos

Sarakiniko is a very special beach. It has white rocks shaped by wind and water. It looks like the moon! People love to take photos there.

6. Simos Beach (Σίμος) – Elafonisos

Simos Beach is on a small island in the south of Greece. The water is very clear and the sand is soft. It’s quiet, peaceful, and perfect for nature lovers.

7. Lalaria Beach (Λαλάρια) – Skiathos

You can only visit Lalaria by boat. The beach has round white stones and a big rock with a hole in it. It’s a calm place for people who love nature and quiet.

These beaches are not just beautiful—they’re also a great way to learn Greek words and culture. Next time you see the sea, you can say θάλασσα! Or when you walk on the beach, remember παραλία.

Which beach would you like to visit first? Write your answer in the comments—and try to use a Greek word!
